Background: Despite nurses’ globally recognized and pivotal role in health care delivery, innovative behavior in nursing is scantly discussed. In particular, a strong base for conceptualizing the inherent motivation system of employees, through which healthcare organizations have a far greater impact on nurses’ innovative behavior, is less clear by far.
