Role of authentic leadership in enhancing employees’ voice behavior through psychological capital during Covid-19 pandemic

Abstract/Description

Given the importance of employees’ voice behaviour and psychological capital during Covid-19, this study highlights the role of authentic leadership in building a psychologically strong workforce which can provide meaningful suggestions for the improvement of the organization. Drawing upon the theory of authentic leadership, this study aimed to investigate the role of authentic leadership in enhancing employees’ voice behaviour through psychological capital in the context of Covid-19. We used a questionnaire survey to collect the data and recruited 261 participants of the telecom sector in Sindh, Pakistan. We analyzed the data using Partial least squares structural equation modeling. The findings of the study supported the hypotheses suggesting that authentic leadership can directly influence employees’ voice behaviour and indirectly via psychological capital. The study was conducted during covid-19 in the telecom sector of Sindh, Pakistan. This study contributes by providing useful insights that authentic leadership is an important form of leadership that encourages employees’ voluntary behaviour and psychological strength during a covid-19 pandemic.
