Abstract / Summary
The core purpose of the MBA Project was to identify the key problematic areas facing agility logistics and vis a vis provide a feasible operational and financial solution that could help the company in improving its efficiency to a next level. Agility is one of the key providers of third party logistics in Pakistan and is renowned to be a key player in the international as well as the domestic transportation market. The scope of our project was limited to the study of road transportation companies in Pakistan that are providing primary distribution services in general and Agility Logistics Pakistan in specific. It entailed thorough i-depth study of Agility Logistics operations in Pakistan which included but no limited to interactions with the top management to all the way down to grass root level employees and getting hands on experience of the work dynamics. Key problem areas were identified after studying and covering the overall domestic transportation market via on-field research backed by off field research (literature review). Furthermore to back our research, international market practices were looked upon and compared to our domestic market. Aforementioned exercises were looked upon and problem areas/variables of Agility Logistics which were severely impacting its net profitability. These included fuel management, number of trips (turn-around time) and maintenance cost.
