Abstract / Summary
The Aga Khan University Hospital; here forth referred as the AKUH; was established in 1985 as a primary teaching site. AKUH is not only facilitating the affordable ones, but those who can't offered the medical treatment expenses are also taken care of through several welfare programs. Today AKUH is an ISO 9001 certified healthcare institute and is managing its huge laboratory facility nationwide. Not only the Hospital but each laboratory is supplied with necessary equipment and medicine from its central warehouse situated at the AKUH main campus on stadium road. The warehouse which is spread over an area of 55,000 square feet needed expansion at the rate on which patients are likely to grow in the coming years. The AKUH management wants to focus on its core competencies and outsource certain operations to a Third-party logistics (3PL) service vendor.
