Abstract / Summary
The project's objective is to transform procurement procedures by analyzing and monitoring major cost drivers for risk analysis and data driven decision making leading to greater synergies, consolidation opportunities, and cost savings. The research encompasses multiple dimensions including the study of category management, risk analysis, external environmental analysis, strategic analysis, and data analysis tools. The problem statement entails effective category management. The research questions aim to monitor external factors and cost drivers influencing KE’s supply chain whereas the research methodology involves primary and secondary research techniques. Secondary research will identify industry best practices in category management while the primary research will identify gaps between industry standards and KE's practices. Management interviews will provide insights into KE's existing product categorization that will establish links between products, their cost drivers, and associated data sources, optimizing categorization for risk reduction and cost efficiency
