Abstract

Relation extraction is a domain of Natural Language Processing that is focused on finding semantic relationships between entities that lead to information gathering and presentation. It is based on machine learning models that are supervised, semi-supervised and unsupervised and have been successful for many languages such as English, Chinese, and Italian, etc. Urdu, due to its complex nature, has not been researched extensively and it is very little REdone. The focus of this research survey is to elaborate upon relation extraction mechanisms and estimate the success of various models for various languages. Also, to study the current research on the Urdu Language, the challenges faced and systems developed.
