Abstract
This research summary focuses on understanding and summarizing how different big data technologies, particularly implementing the Lambda or Kappa Architecture, are currently being used in a variety of industries, especially the industrial ones which have only recently adopted these modern solutions to help them better understand how to interact with their data in a meaningful matter and get the most out of it. Since Lambda and Kappa are only architectural guidelines, my approach on this was to explore many research materials but to also factor in blogs and YouTube videos I could find related to implementing different frameworks to achieve the desired result. Since I am covering several varying industries, I had to filter out a lot of material that although related to Big Data but wouldn’t touch on how it got implemented at scale or how it worked well for that particular industry. Only a limited research material and blogs eventually came to light which would be summarized and explored over here so that we may better understand which technologies play or don’t play better for that particular industry.
