SBS Thought Leadership Areas
Investment Decision Making
SBS Thought Leadership Area Justification
The project aims to figure out a frame work for the market size of soft commodities. A very first time this will happen. If our frame work is used correctly with more research it can become the best tool for investor and policy makers to take and make decision that will benefits both them and the Pakistan's Economy. For example If Someone look into our dashboard for the rice and find out which country has the highest yield and what method do they use for this kind of highest yield the investor can invest and increase his yield as well, thus it will increase the export from which both the investor and Pakistan will gain significant amount of profit.

Aligned SDGs Justification
SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
Our study showcases the potential for creating rural employment through agricultural value chains. Improved processing, transport, and storage of soft commodities not only enhance efficiency but also generate jobs. For instance, developing localized storage hubs and modern milling facilities for maize and rice can stimulate rural non-farm employment while reducing economic losses due to spoilage.

Abstract
This Experiential Learning Project (ELP), conducted in collaboration with Pakistan Agricultural Research, focused on analyzing six major agricultural commodities in Pakistan: rice, wheat, maize, sugarcane, cotton, and oilseeds. The objective was to identify inefficiencies across production, pricing, trade, and policy frameworks using data-driven analysis. Leading a team of researchers, I oversaw extensive data collection, stakeholder coordination, and the development of six interactive dashboards using Excel and Power BI. These dashboards provided actionable insights into market gaps and structural challenges. The project aimed to enhance market transparency and support informed decision-making for policymakers and sector stakeholders, contributing to broader agricultural and economic development goals.
