Abstract / Summary
International Textile Limited (ITL) is a fully vertically integrated textile company of Pakistan. The company's major products lines include yarn, towels, fabrics, blankets and complete range of kitchen, institutional and hospitality products. ITL operates three business divisions, namely terry textiles, garments and MJS. Under the MJS division, ITS's product lines consist of aprons, napkins and table tops. All MJS related products are exported, and almost all to the US market. Currently, the lead time is 57 days. This is of concern because China, their biggest competitor, has lead time of around 45 days and thus, has a competitive edge in the industry. For this purpose a detailed research was carried out in order to reduce the lead time of MJS supply chain to 45 days without significantly compromising on existing performance targets of costs, time and quality.
