Abstract / Summary
This report is part of our MBA Project which is on agri-business investment fund. The client for this project is The Abraaj Group who wants to invest i agri-business in Pakistan. The objective of this project is to create a feasibility study of Agri-Business Investment Fund for The Abraaj Group. The study is conducted based on the African Food security model with special focus on corporate farming. Three key elements of this model were considered while conducting the study that includes: sustainable income for farmers, social development in the area and healthy profits for the investors. The total fund size is US$ 75-100 million with individual sector investment ranging between US$ 3-10 million. Research on five sub-sectors of agriculture was done that includes Dates, Bananas, Mangoes, Livestock and Wheat. The investment opportunities in these 5 sectors require an amount of US$ 28.78 million. Further each sector is discussed in detail int eh subsequent sections.
