Abstract

Software Industry is growing fast. It is essential for software development organizations to deliver reliable and predictable software and they need to do it fast. DevOps is one of the approaches to achieve this goal. DevOps call for association between all the teams participating in software development delivery and maintenance.

DevOps is an extension of agile emphasizing on increased collaboration within teams and organizations shunning all possibilities of silos that were not covered by previous methodologies. DevOps has swept the interest of market and academia alike. There have been many studies conducted to evaluate DevOps understanding and utilization.

The aim of this study is to determine practitioners and non-practitioner’s opinion about DevOps. What practices and tools are used by practitioners and why non- practitioners have not adopted DevOps. The study also investigates the perceived challenges and benefits of DevOps adoption.
