Abstract
Block chain is one of the hottest technologies of current era, trending across the globe. Its roots were laid with the famous crypto currency concept and then it started re-imagining the fundamental processes of a number of different industries ranging from finance, health care, law, government and public sector, energy and sustainability etc.
This report aims to discuss the use case of Block chain technology in order to leverage the Halal food sector, specifically to maintain the integrity of halal food products throughout the supply chain. Due to the real time access of all transaction and tamper free network that can provide transparency, safety and availability and ensure the fraud avoidance, block chain could be a game changer in re casting the current process and redefining whole new ways of how the halal food integrity is maintained from the raw ingredients to the finished product.
The halal food constraints defined in Islam are not only essential for Muslims, but are attracted by every individual even non-Muslims who want healthy and hygienic food. The gist of this report explores the idea of using block chain technology in combination with IoT to increase the integrity and efficiency over the supply chain of halal food product and allows the organizations to grab the customer’s trust.A sample implementation of a supply chain network is also provided, to demonstrate the implementation of techniques discussed in the report.
