Abstract
Telecommunication industry has become a key factor in economic and social development of any country. There are many technologies that are being developed and deployed. Amongst these technologies, wireless cellular technologies are adopted more quickly.
There are many cellular communications technologies that have been developed in a span of few decades ranging from 1G to 4G. A new technology is begin developed that is known as 5G, that will take cellular communications to its new peak. However, there is not a fix standard or protocol defined on how 5G will be, but there are certain features that are attributed to 5G that will make it a key future technology that will drive feature economies by creating new business models and providing new employment opportunities. The features of 5G technology have remarkable advantages over 3G/4G.
This paper will briefly discuss limitations of 3G/4G, what 5G will be, what technologies will enable 5G and some use case where 5G can be applied in developing countries which will improve their economies.
