Abstract
The overall purpose of this study is to highlight the issues of threats to public spaces in Karachi. This study investigates how public spaces have been affected and what has been done to revive them. The study's research was conducted through already available material existing on public spaces and updates and new threats and harms posed to public spaces through newspaper articles. The public spaces, in the case of Karachi, although are being affected by globalization and the concept of a world-class city, however, the case is not that simple. It involves different government institutions, who are sitting to fill their pocket and can affect public spaces of the city and so government institutions have almost an equal hand in impacting the public spaces of Karachi. The paper talks in-depth about how each public space has been manipulated by private and government forces.
