This project directly aligns with Investment Decision Making because its primary focus is a collection of analytical tools and reports designed to assist K-Electric's management in their decision-making processes regarding vendor payments, contract renewals, and technology investments.
Much of the revenue loss identified during the project was caused by leadership's lack of clarity regarding actual vendor activity, creating a disconnect between vendor claims and ground realities that took a toll on the company's finances. By making the existing Attendance Management System (AMS) data accessible and actionable, the project provides K-Electric's leadership with the visibility required to make sound financial and operational decisions.

By identifying and mitigating fuel waste and billing inefficiencies in the vendor fleet, this project helps K-Electric operate more cost-effectively. Preventing hundreds of millions of rupees in operational leakage means those recovered funds can be invested back into infrastructure rather than affecting consumer tariffs, supporting access to reliable and reasonably priced electricity.

Abstract
This Experiential Learning Project was conducted in partnership with K-Electric's Logistics Division to investigate systemic inefficiencies within the company's RFID-based fleet Attendance Management System (AMS). Although a digital attendance tracking system was operational, the Logistics Division lacked the analytical frameworks necessary to translate raw data into enforceable accountability measures, which allowed vendor non-compliance to go unnoticed and unmeasured for a long time.
The analysis uncovered several serious issues. The average fleet-wide attendance rate was only around 18 to 20 percent, meaning vehicles were absent for roughly 80 percent of their contracted working days. Geographic analysis found 3,729 cases where vehicles checked in at the wrong location. On top of that, fuel leakage analysis identified PKR 9.07 million in direct fuel waste from excess idling, aggressive driving, and unauthorized vehicle use in a single month.
Based on these findings, the report recommends that K-Electric immediately start using the pre-payment audit tools developed during this project, move toward GPS-based fleet tracking in stages, with TPL Tracking World identified as a suitable provider, introduce digital ticket-matching to verify vendor payments, and set up a geo-fencing system to fix location mismatches and asset misallocation.
