Abstract / Summary
Engro Fertilizers Limited is a leading fertilizer manufacturer of Pakistan. The journey of this company began in 1968 when Esso Pakistan Fertilizer Company Limited installed its first urea plant in Daharki. Since then, the organization underwent a number of administrative changes and by 2010 Engro Fertilizers Limited became one of the seven subsidiaries of Engro Corporation Limited. Engro has 24-hour running urea manufacturing plant with an annual production capacity of 2.3 million tons. Natural gas is used as a raw material for urea production. However, Engro does purchase urea bags and spare parts from local and foreign suppliers. Spare parts are ordered on the basis of requests, forwarded from the maintenance department, and stored in the warehouse located at Daharki. The material warehouse reports to VP - Manufacturing of urea plant. The procurement department is located at head office and reports to VP-HR & Admin at Karachi.
