Abstract / Summary
The project was to make a Warehouse Operations Manual for Syngenta Pakistan. Its warehouses are located in six different locations across Pakistan. The deliverable of this project, WOM, is a standardized document valid for all the warehouses with a detailed description about the processes and practices. This report gives an idea of the actual execution of the project, research methodology, time management, Project Budget, Learning from the project and recommendations for both IBA and Syngenta. The objective of the project was to prepare a comprehensive warehouse operating manual which will include the rules, policies and SOPs for conducting operations in the warehouse. In some warehouses the operating manual is present but to standardize the processes and quality assurance, we have ensured the unanimity among these documents; whereas some of the processes do not have formally documented SOPs. The project scope included a thorough analysis of the warehousing operations by conducting interviews & site visits. The secondary research data was be gathered from the existing manuals for some of the processes and also web sources. The research results were be standardized and consolidated into a single warehouse operating manual. The WOM includes the SOPs of the processes of the following functions. • Order Processing • Inventory management • Customer Services • Franchise Management • Credit Management • Computer operations • Security Management • Health, Safety and Environment.
