In this paper I will attempt to establish that the Islamic system as prescribed by the shariah and law is different than the Islamic Banking being practiced in Pakistan. Moreover, there is no substantial difference from Conventional banking. And there is no welfare and elevation of Economic status of poor as prescribed by the Islamic way of finance and the spirit of Islam.
