Executive Summary
This paper will attempt to undertake extensive study of the Phenomenon of Islamic Banks in Pakistan.
It will also study the Islamic Banks impact on social welfare. It will attempt to establish that the impact is nonexistent and there is no difference or added benefit to the society propagated / preached by the Islamic Economic system, which is the base of all Islamic banks in Pakistan.
In this paper I will attempt to establish that the Islamic system as prescribed by the shariah and law is different than the Islamic Banking being practiced in Pakistan. Moreover, there is no substantial difference from Conventional banking. And there is no welfare and elevation of Economic status of poor as prescribed by the Islamic way of finance and the spirit of Islam.
