Executive Summary
This study examines the importance of newspapers and internet newspaper in particular. Our life has certainly been affected by the positive advancements and enhancements in this industry. In this research the mainstream English and Urdu newspapers of the country are taken for the analysis regarding different aspects and features that are primarily linked with the internet. The information is obtained from the web analytic services which are being offered by various websites these days. Alexa and Statstool services are used for this project. As everyone is aware of the fact that most of the newspaper have websites these days and almost all of them is uploading epapers on their sites for the readers comfort. The number of website hits and daily unique visitors on the newspaper websites are increasing day by day and this trend is almost certain to get even bigger in the time to come. Every newspaper is competing really hard to attract as many visitors as possible and advertising online has also become great part of their income. Apart from the online newspapers, the readers are being constantly provided real time updates about the current affairs from the websites and through multiple technologies, social networks and blogs these updates are reaching far more viewers than ever before. Keeping in mind the figures and data, thorough analysis is done of the internet newspapers of the country in this study which may lead to new opportunities of growth for them. Different aspects such as global ranking. Ranking in Pakistan, Daily Unique Visitors, Daily Page views, Back links, Daily Income, Estimated Worth etc are brought under consideration for this purpose which has resulted in major conclusions and findings. Comparison of graphs of traffic among leading newspapers is also shown and advertising revenues have also been taken into account in this research.
