Abstract / Description

This chapter will provide the fundamentals of the Qur'anic cosmology and the insights it brings for individuals immersed in the contemporary consumer culture. Section 2 and 3 of this chapter deal with Islamic metaphysics and ethics. In short, this chapter would serve to unpack the metaphysical, epistemological, ethical, psycho-social foundations of modern economics which require radical transformation in the light of Islamic normative principles derived from the Islamic metaphysics.
