Abstract

Sometimes it does not rain, but it pours. Sustaining a business is a feat in itself, one which might turn into a nightmare — as it had in the case of Buxial. Severe competition, supplier issues, abundant human resources but a lack of cost advan-tage to back it up, partners who turned into competitors — were only some of the problems faced by Hazir Sabzi. These were further compounded by Buxial’s personal issues, such as family problems and the desire to pursue his higher edu-cation. Faced with both increasingly demanding customers, while dealing with the responsibilities of being the only male member of the household, and study schedules which were only getting harder, sustaining an infant business had become impossible. Because quitting his education or ignoring his family obligations did not pose as viable options, Buxial chose to shut his business down as a solution of last resort.
