Abstract
Over the past few years, the increase in the usage and applications of Internet has given a significant boost to E-Commerce. As a result, E-Commerce portals have gained significant importance as they are the most important and in some cases the only means, through which business and their customers interact in the E-Commerce business scenario. A well designed and well developed E-Commerce portal is critical to the success of any E-Commerce business. Agile Software Development methodologies are very helpful when it comes to reacting to changes in an Agile Way. Adaptation of Agile development over traditional software development methodologies helps ensure that working software is delivered which is based upon the specific needs of the customer through continuous collaboration with the customer. This study focuses on importance of Development of E-Commerce portals and how adapting Agile Methodologies towards E-Commerce portal development ensure seamless development translating to overall E-Commerce business success. A survey of existing applications of Agile Methodologies towards different business domains was conducted which implies how application and adaptation of Agile Methodologies helps increase overall business success in the E-Commerce scenario through different frameworks of measuring E-Commerce success. This paper highlights how Agile Development can impact and improve development of E-Commerce portals.
