The Student Handbook of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi is designed as a roadmap to assist you in navigating the important codes, policies, practices, resources, support, and services for the student body at the IBA Karachi. This Handbook also provides information about students’ responsibility and rights regarding their behavior as a member of the IBA fraternity and the use of IBA’s facilities and privileges. As an IBA student, it is your responsibility to ensure that you read it carefully to help acclimatize you to the IBA Karachi.
The Handbook should be read in conjunction with the Students’ Code of Conduct. The provisions of the Student Handbook are not to be regarded as an irrevocable contract between the student and the Institution. The information in this Handbook is current as up to date; however, the information presented in this Handbook is subject to change. The IBA reserves the right to make changes affecting admission procedures, tuition, fee, courses of instruction, programs of study, faculty listings, academic grading policies, and general regulations etc.

An Institute, like any community, should have some regulations and/or standards with which its members abide by and have procedures with which it functions. The standards provide a secure order and create an atmosphere conducive to intellectual and personal development for all its members. This Student Handbook and the Code of Student Conduct contained within are intended to serve these purposes and provide students with a helpful reference about the IBA Karachi. It includes an overview of the systems in place, a summary of student policies and benefits, and highlights the available resources, services, and activities. The IBA has a responsibility to maintain order within the community and to discipline those who violate its standards, rules and/or policies. As a student, you are expected to abide by the standards, rules and/or policies set forth in this Handbook.

An Institute, like any community, must have regulations and/or standards by which its members abide, and procedures by which its organization functions. This handbook, prepared by the Communications department, provides students with a helpful reference about the Institute. It includes an overview of the IBA system, a profile of IBA, a summary of students policies and benefits, and highlights of the resources, services and activities that are available. The standards should provide order and an atmosphere conducive to intellectual and personal development. This Student Handbook and the Code of Student Conduct contained within are intended to serve these purposes in the interest of all segments of the Institute. The IBA has a responsibility to maintain order within the community and to discipline those who violate its standards, rules, and/or policies. Enrollment requires students to share this responsibility. Students agree to abide by the standards, rules and/or policies set forth in this Handbook.

This is IBA’s Student Handbook. It provides basic information and guidance needed to help the students to make the most of the opportunities on offer at IBA. It also gives formal notification and explanation of IBA’s codes, regulations, policies and procedures. Please take the time to read it. We oversee student matters and ensure that the University’s policies are followed with particular interest in examinations, conduct and welfare, including all needs and pressures of student’s life.

It will serve as a guide to how students can best become involved, and take advantage of, the opportunities available to them at IBA. The information and instructions contained in this document are periodically updated and therefore subject to change from time to time as deemed necessary and appropriate by the IBA in order to meet the requirements of its strategic agenda. The procedures and instructions contained in this document apply to students and facilities at both the campuses of IBA.
The IBA system is wholly based on eight values which are individually defined on the opposite page.
This handbook is, NOT a substitute for the Program Announcement, which is a comprehensive document regarding IBA’s Admission, Academic policies, Programs of Study, Grading and Evaluation Rules, etc. Students are advised to also regularly consult the latest issue of the Program Announcement which is available on the IBA website and portal.
