Abstract / Summary
Have you ever seen anyone asking a girl, a child, or an old age beggar to show some dance moves in the middle of the road to get some money? No, right? This disrespectful act happens to TRANSGENDERS only.
This documentary is based on the subject of “Respect”. That how the transgender community is deprived of this basic right to respect and dignity. The transgender community in Pakistan is facing significant and serious challenges due to the prevalent transphobic culture. No matter how educated they are, they have to face this incivility of the society.
For this documentary, I have interviewed several well educated and uneducated members of Khwaja sirah community. I have also taken point of view of a psychologist and a religious scholar to see what Islam says about it and how this behavior of the society impact on their mental health.
