Abstract

The business world is emerging far and wide regardless of geographical limitations. The world is more connected not through borders or cultures but with the exchange of information, commerce and labour. The diverse communities are moving towards urban cities that offer better livelihood. There was a time when cities were identified by their people, their culture and religion. But now, cities are recognized by their policies and information industry structure. The business industry is highly competitive because it serves as an important factor in identifying one’s dominance. The growth in population also encourages the region to bring more facilities and opportunities for its people. The United States is a world power but soon China will take its place. Likewise, the influence shift will also be observed amongst its cities. New York is a dominant city but Beijing also enjoys the same position. The problem is to recognize the cities that are maximizing the influence on both local and global scale. We deeply study and analyse the world cities and regions data. We applied various centrality metrics to calculate the influence for the regions and cities on local and global scale. We further analyze the influence of the interaction between nodes in our firm network through the classical independent cascade model.
