Abstract

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid currently lack a dedicated chatbot to assist patients in navigating their healthcare and insurance policies. These policies are often complex and challenging to understand, leaving patients confused and underserved. This project addresses this gap by developing a multimodal chatbot that leverages Medicare and Medicaid data to provide accurate and relevant responses. The chatbot is designed to process both text and image inputs, enabling users to inquire about their healthcare concerns or submit visual data, such as images of medical conditions or documents. By analyzing the input and retrieving context-specific information, the chatbot delivers precise insights into the applicable Medicare and Medicaid policies. This innovation aims to enhance accessibility, improve patient understanding, and streamline decision-making in the healthcare domain.
