Executive Summary
This Feasibility Study is providing qualitative and quantitative analysis of the data/information from primary and secondary sources related to the current scenario and the potential for PTA Future Market in different segment and applications over the span of 8-10 years.
Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) industry operators must be more watchful and forward-thinking due to worries about the world economy slowing down, the impact of the Ukraine conflict, lockdowns in China with resurgent COVID cases, and the risks of stagflation imagining many market situations. Companies are being forced to adapt their business models as a result of the pandemic COVID-19's significant effects on the Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) supply chain and the growing movement for a cleaner, more sustainable environment.
The research is focused on the potential of PTA market revenues in Pakistan, considering the strategic decision for the sole domestic manufacturer Lotte Chemical Pakistan Limited (LCPL) to expand its plant/business operations to benefit from the futuristic global and local business outlook of PTA based market segments. It reviews the determinants of the PTA supply, demand, production, trade and logistics around the globe in general and specifically in Asia Pacific region and Pakistan.
This study considered five years of historical data from 2018-2022 as the base year with an outlook period of 8 years from 2023 to 2030 to determine the potential for backward integration, production expansion, and collaboration or joint ventures for forward integration to bring in efficiencies in the business cycle of LCPL for the purpose increasing sales volumes and its resultant profits for the company and its shareholders.
It also briefly includes the PTA parent market, derived market, intermediaries’ market, major raw material, and substitutes to give a clear picture for the PTA market projections for LCPL. Other key metrics discussed includes the Competition, Product Differentiation, Threat of New Entrants and New Substitutes, Entry Barriers, and Government Policies in Pakistan’s domestic PTA industry.
