Executive Summary
In 2012 K-Electric (KE) reported profits for the first time in 17 years; it represented a turnaround for the company lead by the new management under the flag ship of Abraaj Capital Dubai. What is the share of Industrial Processes automation (IPA) in this success story? That is very important to know if company wants know the return of its investment and wants to keep on improving.
In this research I tried to gauge the impact of Industrial process automation from a stand point of financial performance improvement, business process development, system efficiency enhancement, load shedding reduction and increased consumer satisfaction. This research based upon both primary and exploratory research methodologies and the result of the research is that IPA has greatly improved KE performance by reducing load shedding, identifying and reducing losses, improving customer services and information availability and in the end improving the life of the citizens of Karachi.
