Executive Summary
The merger & acquisition was largely considered to be a tool to improve the business, growth and its outreach. This study of mergers of the three banks i.e. Mybank Limited, Arif Habib Bank Limited and Atlas Bank Limited is primarily focused on the hypothesis that post merger the financial health of the merged entities would improve. This empirical study includes financial analysis of asset quality, liquidity, earning and capital strength of the bank. The financial health of these three banks is analyzed separately before merger and then post merger results of Summit Bank Limited are studied to draw conclusion.
This study endeavors to understand the impact of merger & acquisition in the banking industry. This study elaborates the reasons for merger & acquisition, qualitative and quantitative factors, impact of regulatory enforcement and restrictions. The extensive review of the literature on merger & acquisition is carried out understands this topic. In this study, a deductive approach is followed to come up to the conclusion.
