Executive Summary
Employees’ work effectiveness is the beginning of organizational success. Better performance of individuals results in better organizational and group performance. Employees’ work effectiveness will be achieved when Job Descriptions are well designed and job-specific rather than generic. Job Description is the written statements that describe the duties, responsibilities, required qualifications and reporting relationships of a particular job. They are based on objective information obtained through Job Analysis, and understanding of the competencies and skills required to accomplish needed tasks, and the needs of the organization to produce work. Effectively developed, employee job descriptions are communication tools that are significant to the organization's objectives. On the other hand, poorly written employee job descriptions, add to workplace confusion, miscommunication, and make people feel they don't know what is expected from them. Alignment of employees with the company’s vision, mission, goals and objects, spells success for the organization.
