Persons entering this field understand warehouses as storage facilities only, which adds significant cost to the business operations, on the contrary, a well-structured warehouses not only can reduce cost but may increase profitability. This simulation activity has been developed keeping the challenges faced by the warehouse industry and lack of knowledge for basic warehouse operations. At the end of the activity, participants will be able to learn, understand and apply basics skills and knowledge to cover all operational activities from unloading to loading. In this way, participants will experience reasons for errors in the material handling cycle and warehouse operations. This simulation can be further extended with the incorporation of a GS1 barcoding system and WMS software which may meet the requirements of current industry trends and enhance the efficiency of these basics operations.
