Abstract / Description
On 24th October Dr. Ishrat Hussain gave a talk on the subject of "What is wrong with Pakistan?" He gave a brilliant analysis of the factors that have led to Pakistan's present plight. He started with the Ayub Khan era and stated that it was perhaps the best period in Pakistan's history. He talked about Zia-ul-Haq and the damage inflicted by him by the Islamisation of all text books, during whose rule extremism was born and the problem of sectarianism began.
