Description
In 1950, when it was proposed that the economies of Europe be tied so closely together that war becomes impossible, this vision was not taken seriously. But step by step, integration happened. It started with the iron and steel industries, reduction in tariffs, slashing of subsidies, and dismantling of cartels.
