Abstract / Summary

In the current world where the world's urban city population is increasing very the citizen issues so, to deal with the citizen need and providing them the best solutions to their problems the need of technology i.e. Information technology will rise. For this purpose, the concept of Smart Cities has been introduced and is now spreading rapidly throughout the world (Batty 2013).The smart city concept has becoming famous every day and many countries are adopting the concept in the cities and also using big data applications that raise the living standards of citizens and help government in improving the standards for their citizens. The smart cities use different technologies to improve the transportation, health, education, energy and many more services within the city. These applications not only reduce the cost but also manage to effectively use the city resources. The recent technology that has huge impact on smart city is Big Data. The big data plays important role in enhancing the smart city services and using the big data correctly is an important factor in different domains like business, services and smart city. In this paper the writer has discussed the applications of big data that supports the smart city concept. The paper has discusses the challenges, requirements of modeling a smart city and benefits of using big data in the smart city.(Al Nuaimi 2015) and (Kitchin 2014).
