Executive Summary

The fast fashion industry has revolutionized the global apparel market in the past few decades. In this context, the present study aims to investigate the key challenges faced by fast fashion denim manufacturers in Pakistan. The study has two objectives: (1) to understand the key challenges of supply chain for the success by denim manufacturers in achieving fast fashion, and (2) to identify the strategies to overcome these key challenges.

To achieve these objectives, the study adopted a qualitative research methodology. Six interviews were conducted with experienced professionals working in the denim sector in Pakistan, with three interviews conducted with each of two manufacturers: top-tier AGIDenim and bottom-tier Rajby Industries. The interviews were conducted with professionals working in planning and supply chain, product development and research, and marketing and merchandising.

Based on a literature review and the qualitative data collected from the interviews, the study identified three critical key challenges: supply chain effectiveness, supply chain agility, and supply chain resilient and antifragility. Additionally, the study identified three strategies to achieve these critical key challenges: supply chain integration, lean and flexible supply chain, and collaborative supply chain.

The findings of the study suggest that the fast fashion denim manufacturers in Pakistan need to focus on supply chain management to achieve success in the highly competitive market. The study provides valuable insights into the factors that impact the fast fashion denim manufacturers in Pakistan and the strategies they can adopt to achieve success. The quantitative analysis of qualitative data provides more robust findings that can help the manufacturers in making informed decisions for their supply chain management.

In conclusion, this study provides valuable insights into the key challenges faced by fast fashion denim manufacturers in Pakistan and the strategies to achieve success. The study recommends that manufacturers focus on supply chain effectiveness, agility, resilient, and antifragility by adopting supply chain integration, lean and flexible supply chain, and collaborative supply chain strategies to gain a competitive edge in the fast fashion industry.
