The automobile industry was declared “Industry of the Industries” by peter Drucker and it employs every seven person in the world, directly or indirectly. Due to rapid increase in population and sharply deteriorating condition in public transport system has caused very rapid increase in motorcycle on road ultimately resulting bringing boom in spare parts business in Pakistan.
As better supply chain is the back bone for all the business, spare parts availability to the dealer through efficient means in the need of the hour. The need was felt to the study the lead time of Atlas Honda's Spare parts supplies and excavate the reason for higher lead time and suggest it's remedial.
At first stage term of reference were written in detail. Along with the secondary research, a comprehensive primary research was held by involving all the stakeholders (Dealers, Marketing team & Operations) The questionnaire v\/as developed and discussed with the assigned faculty member & were filled across the country at all the region with decided sampling plan.
- The data was analyzed and recommendations were formed which briefly included lead time calculation should be systemized through development of software.
- Sales territories should be re-arranged as per business activity.
- Availability of parts in inventory should be ensured through better forecasting, parts re-categorized.
- Regional Warehousing should be strengthen for reducing lead time.
